Not Long Now

Two Months to go!

As the holiday fast approaches our three wise men have been busy reflecting on what lies ahead, including the very serious subject of real ale and the pubs most likely to provide liquid nourishment along the way. Much planning methinks!

In the meantime it's worth posting a few pics of our visit to the Caldon last year, which was all too brief, as the clock was ticking and we had deadlines to meet.

Gateway to the Caldon

Bedford Street Staircase Locks

Away from the city
Old and new - I know which I prefer

Waterways for all. Quite right too

Smashing chap - we had a brief chat as we slowly moved past
good to see folk enjoying the waterway

Just a few pics to whet the appetite

Thing is, last year this was a journey into the unknown. Now we know what to expect it's going to be fantastic. This canal really is understated, the heritage, the scenery, the engineering, in fact all of it

Keep on visiting for more snippits

Brilliant!!!

Brilliant!!!

Our holiday is just a couple of months away and I've had reason to phone the Hire firm to ask for their help with some small travel and arrival related arrangements. No need for me to go into detail at present

What a firm this is - (Karen) couldn't be more helpful - Canal Cruising Company at Stone www.canalcruising.co.uk

This episode really enforces my view that, whilst I believe all the hire firms I've/we've used in the past have been very good, this particular one is proving to be the best yet

Now the holiday is fast approaching I'll be doing some more work on this 'Blog' in anticipation of the good times ahead

Spirit of the Caldon

Our trip along the Caldon Canal involves us searching for the 'Spirit of the Caldon' What does this mean and will we find it? More at a later date

Thank you for following the 'Blog' and our trio of escaped lunatics hope you will continue to follow us as we travel on what is one of the finest canals there is
